TRANSFIELD ASSET MANAGEMENT SERVICES
SIGNATORY TO NATIONAL UNION COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

A major milestone in the preparations for Transfield Asset Management Services to undertake work in the Oil sands industry was reached this week with the Company becoming signatory to the General Presidents’ Maintenance Committee collective agreement.

“Our signing of the agreement is symbolic of the great relationships we have built with the General President’s Committee and the affiliate building trades unions over the last 12 months.”, said Rohan May, General Manager, Labour Relations. “Having our partnership formally recognized by being a signatory to the General Presidents’ Agreement is a key component in delivering our cutting-edge maintenance and shutdown systems and processes.” “This agreement, and our teaming with the Alberta Building Trades Council and their affiliate unions, allows us to work together with the unions and access the great talent and skills of their members by providing employment through meeting our clients needs. We are proud to be a “union” employer”, he concluded.

“The Alberta Building Trades Council represents 16 construction trade unions, 22 locals and approximately 50,000  trades-people in Alberta. Having employers such as Transfield Asset Management Services working with us like this recognizes the quality and skills of our members and the infrastructure that our affiliate unions provide,“.Ron Harry, Executive Director of the Alberta Building Trades Council added.

The General Presidents' Maintenance Committee for Canada is a Council of Unions in which all of the Building Trades Unions participate at the International level of the Union. Transfield Asset Management Services is a company established by FT Services, (a 50/50 joint veture between Transfield Services and Flint Energy Services), that was recently successful in securing a five year contract to provide asset management services to Suncor Energy at their operating sites in Fort McMurray and Sarnia worth approx. $1.1b that will employ over 1000 people.
